You can reduce work stress and keep your body toned with yoga. But, how can you even think of taking Yoga with your already-so-busy schedule? You can learn how to practice Yoga at your desk and you won’t even need to change into workout clothes. If you will just dedicate a few minutes of each day to do a little office Yoga, sitting and standing will become way easier for you.

Sit straight and press your back against your chair. Put your feet flat on the floor, so be sure to take off heels. Press your toes on the floor while raising your heels. In the next step, you need to press your heels against the floor and raise your toes instead. Alternate these movements. You will experience a feeling of stretching and relaxation in the muscles of your lower leg. At first it may feel tense, then with repetition, you will notice how much your lower legs feel relief. This routine can be practiced while you are on the phone with a client.

Inhale deeply and raise your arms until they are over your head. Hold your left wrist with your right hand. Blow out slowly while you bend toward your right. Inhale and return to vertical sitting position. Repeat the same stretching exercise with your other hand.

Push your chair away from your desk. With your back against the chair, slowly fold forward lowering your upper body, reaching your hands to the floor. Stretch and see if you can lay your palms flat on the floor. Remain in that position and count to ten, then slowly resume your sitting position.

Sit with your back straight and pressed against the chair. Slowly look down and bring your chin toward your chest. Move your head in slow circles, going to the right, and then to the center and to the left. Focus on keeping your shoulders from tightening while you move your head.

Engage in a half cat stretch. Keep your feet flat against the floor. Place your hand on your knees. Take a deep, slow breath and arch your back slowly, bringing yourself to look at the ceiling. Breathe out and round your spine in the opposite direction, allowing your chin to come down to your chest. Pause a few seconds and repeat this stretch.

In just five minutes, these exercises will help you incredibly. And you can repeat these moves several times a day. Desk yoga is a great stress reliever. While they are natural responses to stress, binging on chocolate and smoking are not to your benefit. Yoga on the other hand can help you relax naturally and will help getting you on the right track for a healthier lifestyle.
